Job Role: Manufacturing Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer for a client specialising in the AS9100-accredited precision engineering services. You will be responsible for the introduction of both new and existing products from concept and design through to full-scale production on the shopfloor, applying lean manufacturing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities of a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Plan and design manufacturing processes from start to finish, with focus on continuous improvement and waste reduction.
- Produce accurate stage drawings, documentation, setup packs, and SOPs.
- Support the quotation process with accurate lead times and cost estimations.
- Drive and support new product introduction (NPI) projects, providing hands-on support to operators at machinery.
- Generate offline CNC programs for milling and turning (3-, 4-, and 5-axis) to meet customer demand.
- Assist and lead the prove-out process for NPI projects, ensuring first-time quality and production readiness.
- Support the quality department with PFMEA and related activities.
- Provide technical support and permanent corrective actions for daily machining issues.
- Design and select tooling and fixtures to enhance machining capabilities and process improvements.
- Produce accurate setup sheets and tooling logs to ensure consistent machine setup.
- Assist the Project Director with project implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead technical discussions with suppliers and customers, providing engineering solutions and support.
An ideal candidate for the Manufacturing Engineer role would have:
- HNC in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrable Knowledge of ISO9001 & AS9100 Standards
- Experience within Aerospace & Automotive
- Experience of APQP/PFMEA
- Knowledge of machine Inspection Techniques
- Able to use and Adapt to different CAD/CAM packages
- Able to operate and set different machines tools
- Computer literate MS Word, Excel.Top of Form

- Experience with VISI CAD/CAM software is desriable
- Fixture design
- Experience with 3D modelling
