Our leading client are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team at their site in Leicestershire. As a maintnenace engineer you will be playing a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our plant through both electrical and mechanical maintenance activities. You will be responsible for addressing mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns safely, contributing to the plant’s productivity and upholding our commitment to a zero-tolerance safety and continuous improvement culture. This role demands initiative, technical expertise, and adherence to stringent health, safety, and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer

  • Perform maintenance reporting via CMMS and document breakdowns using MBRs
  • Conduct TPM/PPM activities and monitor production processes for continuity
  • Ensure safe operations by fitting correct spare parts and rectifying stoppages/malfunctions
  • Adhere to site PPE, LOTOTO, and health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain production output, quality, and yields through effective repairs
  • Engage in continuous improvement and independently address electrical/mechanical faults
  • Diagnose and repair PLCs, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, HMI screens, and control systems
  • Perform housekeeping and other duties as delegated by management

Qualification and Requirements - Maintenance Engineer

  • Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience with automated machinery or in the heavy industry
  • Training in welding, burning, and cutting techniques
  • Completion of company online induction, COSHH, LOTOTO, silica awareness, working at height, risk assessments, confined space training, spill training, forklift training, mobile plant (MEWP/Scissor Lift), lifting/slinging, overhead crane training, and HAV training
  • Good working knowledge of PLCs, automated control systems, and fault diagnosis on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make decisions under pressure
  • Willingness to undertake specialist training, which may require staying away from home
