Quality Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a client that specialises in the manufacture of complex injection mouldings for the automotive industry.
This role is a permanent opportunity where you will be responsible for supporting with product quality related issues whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.
You will be ensuring that correct standards are in place to assure the production processes are repeatable and stable through problem solving activities.
Role Responsibilities – Quality Engineer
- Lead warranty & service problem solving
- Audit current mass production processes & new processes before SOP to detect non-conformities
- Support MTC in project development (Process FMEA, Control plan, Quality instructions, Checking fixture design, process capabilities, master sample definition).
- Identify abnormalities by self-audits to maintain process control, identify process weakness & necessities.
- Product Segregation (OK / NOK parts), support production in problem solving, confirm countermeasure action robustness.
- Manage internally diverted parts & stock checks.
- Liaise between production departments and internal customers
- Drive Quality basics in all production areas
- Any other duties as reasonably required by the company
- Take direction from Customer Focus Manager
- Escalate any customer/internal concerns to Customer Focus Manager
- Support production improvement requirements/needs
- Respect company systems and procedures
- Respect customer quality standards
- Active role in Quality & Production Level 2 Meeting
The ideal candidate for Quality Engineer role would have:
- Experience within automotive supply (1st tier preferred)
- Leading quality improvement (8d or customer format)
- Recognised engineering or equivalent qualification
- Self-motivated and passionate
- Able to perform tasks using own initiative
- Experience of working in teams
- Knowledge of injection moulding and/or paint processes
- Good organisational skills with a systematic approach
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills on all levels
- Methodical approach to problem solving
