Our client are specialist manufacture that provide products into a range of agricultural and residential industries. They are seeking a Health & Safety Lead to join their Northwestern Site.
Responsibilities & Duties – Health & Safety Lead
- Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.
- Develop and deliver a robust Health and Safety Strategy and roll out a clear and concise operational Health and Safety Agenda for all departments.
- Ensure the completion of regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and operations.
- Create a Risk Register ensuring action plans are put into place accordingly.
- Ensure that Safety Inspections are carried out, Fire Drills and Alarms are correctly reported, Safety Inspections, Risk Assessments are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
- Carry out regular Site Inspections / GMP Audits check policies and procedures; practices are being properly implemented and followed.
- Lead in-house training with managers, supervisors and employees about Health and Safety issues and risks.
- Accountable for reporting areas that require further development around housekeeping throughout the factory. Issues to be raised with supervisors and employees as appropriate.
- Communicate and attend / report to the Senior Management Team on key priority issues through the SMT daily meetings.
- Deliver in-depth Health and Safety Inductions for all new employees.
- Maintain the company’s system for recording, reporting and investigating injuries, accidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses.
- Arrange health surveillance when required for employees.
- Work with regulatory enforcement agencies and government bodies as required.
- Proactively manage the COSHH and handling hazardous substances for all staff.
Essential experience and qualifications – Health & Safety Lead
- Needs to have a very good understanding of framework for ISO 9001/14001/45001 to conduct quarterly in house internal audits to allow the sites to be ready for audits.
- NEBOSH qualified.
- ISO 9001/14001/45001
- Experience with SEDEX
- 3-5 years’ previous experience successfully managing a H&S function where the workforce is 100+ employees.
- Understand budget management and able to successfully manage the sites PPE purchasing and safety equipmen
