Continental :
1 st week - Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat and Sun 2nd week - Wed and Thurs Dayshift 6am – 6pm (2 weeks rotate)
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Larkhall site. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering effective planned and reactive maintenance services, ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive Maintenance Engineer to contribute to our high standards of operational excellence while working collaboratively with a team of experienced engineers and key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities - Maintenance Engineer
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained at all times
- Resolve machine breakdowns promptly, escalating to lead engineer or specialist when necessary
- Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PPMS) to align with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and adhere to 5S principles
- Conduct effective handovers with clear, timely written and verbal communication
- Order parts using the correct administrative processes
- Contribute to the upkeep of stores and ensure compliance with standards
- Perform root cause analysis to provide permanent fixes for recurring issues
- Ensure the correct tools are available for every job
- Demonstrate good standards of conduct, including adherence to site rules (e.g., no eating/drinking in sections except water) and effective time management
- Collaborate effectively with third-party contractors when required
- Optimize resource use, including skills, personnel, and tools, for each job
- Provide supervision and coaching to apprentices on assigned tasks
Qualifications & Requirements - Maintenance Engineer
- Time-served and qualified Maintenance Engineer (or equivalent qualification)
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer
- Electrical bias with 17th or 18th Edition certification and proven experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time management skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work effectively within a team
- Desirable: Hydraulic experience and previous work in a manufacturing environment
- Equivalent qualifications to 17th/18th Edition for candidates trained outside the UK or with alternative certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering or similar)
