We are seeking a dedicated Machine Setter to join our client's dynamic manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment, ensuring production lines operate efficiently and deliver top-quality products.
Role Overview - Machine Setter
As a Machine Setter, you will be responsible for setting up and operating two to three production lines per shift, ensuring they achieve the company's performance and quality objectives. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will collaborate with team members, including material handlers, packers, and quality assurance staff, to maintain smooth operations, uphold equipment standards, and produce high-quality products. The role requires working in a Panama shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities - Machine Setter
- Operate production lines efficiently to maximize output of high-quality bottles while minimizing downtime.
Optimize material usage by controlling bottle weights, reducing defects, and efficiently using regrind and additives to minimize waste.
Ensure all products meet strict quality standards, working closely with the quality assurance team to identify and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain tools and equipment in excellent condition, reporting any faults or maintenance needs.
Adhere to safety, hygiene, and housekeeping protocols at all times.
Accurately complete shift reports using company systems to document line performance.
Provide cover for additional shifts as needed to support team objectives.
Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet shared production goals.
Swiftly restore lines to full production during setups or unexpected downtime.
Key Experience & Qualifications - Machine Setter
- Experience or eagerness to operate production lines, preferably with blow moulding equipment, while maintaining low defect rates.
Strong ability to manage materials efficiently to reduce waste and control costs.
Keen eye for detail to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Problem-solving skills to address issues quickly and keep production lines operational.
Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Flexibility to work additional shifts when required.
Proficiency in completing accurate and detailed shift reports.
Commitment to adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
Enthusiasm for learning and developing new skills.
