Senior Electronic Engineer (R&D)
Location: Stevenage
Contract: Permanent

We are recruiting for senior electronic engineers to join our client’s site in Stevenage.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on the development of a world-class, precision product range. This role enables you to actively participate in research and development activities, shaping future roadmaps for electronic products and solutions.

Please be aware that due to the nature of this role, and the industry of our client, successful candidates must undergo BPSS and be a British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Role Requirements – Senior Electronic Engineer (R&D)

  • You will be responsible for designing and detailing how the electronic and electrical systems of equipment will be structured, and how they will work together.
  • This will include sensors, microcontrollers, processors, batteries, witing, connectors, etc.
  • You will create circuit diagrams or witing layouts for power and signals on equipment.
  • You will do this through choosing the best configuration for efficiency, reliability and costs, making sure the system meets performance needs, safety standards and avoids issues like overheating, short circuits or interference.
  • Throughout this, customer requirements must be met within constraints of limited physical space and harsh operating environments.

The ideal candidate for the Senior Electronics Engineer (R&D) would be:

  • Ideally educated to degree level (or equivalent) with an Electronics bias and significant experience in the following areas:
  • Digital electronics and microprocessor systems experience
  • Power electronics for distributed power networks experience
  • Design of equipment for safety critical environments experience
  • Understanding of software and firmware development techniques
  • Experienced in compact packaging and thermal management techniques for complex high-performance electronic equipment
  • Knowledge of internal computing design covering System on Chip technologies, RF, Signal Processing, and Software Defined Radio would be beneficial. As would, experience in EMC and Environmental design.
