Omega are supporting a well-known company in the food processing industry, specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of equipment for processing a wide range of food products, in their search for a Field Service Engineer to cover the whole of the Republic of Ireland.

The Field Service Engineer is to provide professional service and support customers by performing field service installation, startup, repairs and maintenance of Reiser equipment. The Field Service Engineer will work within the guidelines, ensuring customer issues are resolved in a timely manner and that the customer is left feeling cared for.

 

Key Responsibilities – Field Service Engineer

  • Deliver high-quality service and support to customers, ensuring satisfaction and timely job completion, which may occasionally require extended working hours.
  • Travel regularly to customer sites and supplier facilities, including overnight stays, to perform installations, maintenance, training, and support tasks.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide range of food processing and packaging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Accurately diagnose equipment faults, identify root causes, and perform corrective actions to restore functionality efficiently.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams including service leads, sales, engineering, and other field technicians to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate service records, job reports, and updates to both customers and service management.
  • Continuously develop technical knowledge through training and hands-on experience with equipment, tools, and system updates.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Field Service Engineer

  • At least 3 years of experience in the field or a related area
  • Apprenticeship or equivalent Electro-mechanical experience preferred
  • Previous experience and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and motor control circuitry required
  • PLC’s with Ladder Logic knowledge, is advantageous
  • Must be able to read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams
  • Ability to read, write and understand English required
  • Customer relations management skills preferred
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
