The dealership represents a variety of well-known car brands, offering both new and used vehicles. They also provide maintenance, repair services, and MOT testing, and are now seeking Vehicle Technician to join their team.You’ll have a strong technical background and be able to efficiently and skilfully carry out the repair and servicing of customers' vehicles, while identifying and diagnosing any additional faults for further repair, ensuring all work is completed safely and to the customer's satisfactionKey Responsibilities – Vehicle Technician
Perform diagnostics using specialised tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehiclesConduct repairs and replacements of defective parts, including brakes, suspensions, exhaust systems, engines, and transmissionsPerform scheduled servicing on vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and filter replacementsInspect vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards, conducting pre-inspection tests and final quality checks after repairsMaintain accurate records of vehicle repairs, maintenance work, and parts used. Update service records and document the issues resolvedCommunicate with customers to discuss vehicle problems and solutions, providing cost estimates and timeframes for repair completionAdhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines when handling vehicle repairs and partsMaintain tools and diagnostic equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order and calibrated as needed
Qualifications & Requirements – Vehicle Technician
Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnosticsAbility to troubleshoot and diagnose issues efficientlyKeen eye for identifying potential issues and performing repairs accuratelyGood communication skills for explaining vehicle problems and solutions to customersAbility to collaborate with other technicians and team members in a busy workshop environmentFamiliarity with diagnostic software and tools
