You will Support the engineering team and factory manufacturing on Capital Projects, Engineering Asset Improvement and the Maintenance Reliability Plan.
Job Responsibilities - Reliability Improvement & Projects Engineer
- Management of engineering projects related to the site plan – CAPEX support
- Delivery of the Engineering Reliability Maintenance plan
- Reviewing Maintenance effectiveness and machine performance to develop engineering KPIs and continuous improvement
- Preparing designs, project controls and specifications, schedules, cost estimates, production, installation, testing and/or commissioning of new infrastructure, facilities, equipment, etc.
- Monitoring progress and performance against the project plan; taking action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
- Identifying, developing, and gathering the resources necessary to complete the engineering project
- Technical engineering support for repairing, troubleshooting and modifying equipment
- Reviewing Maintenance effectiveness and machine history to develop engineering reports, KPIs and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Preparing engineering standards, designs and work specifications; developing project schedules, budgets; and selecting equipment, staff, and external contractors
- Manage the design, acquisition, installation and commission of mechanical/electrical equipment, systems, and parts to support manufacturing.
- Perform process transfers from Engineering to Manufacturing including processes and equipment training
- Manage outside vendor’s, equipment proposals, URS development, machine and equipment installation, qualification and sustaining support of equipment and processes.
- Writing and reviewing operating procedures to assist production
- Writing and reviewing Design to challenge functionality of automated equipment
- Drive a Continuous Improvement culture with pace and impact on sustainable profitable growth through the application of Lean
- Develop standardized approach to identify opportunities
- Lead change towards engineering operational excellence and support continual improvements of systems, processes, and products
- Assess the effectiveness of engineering activities on site using specific analytical tools (eg. Kaizen, Six Sigma, DMAIC etc.)
- Perform Engineering studies for equipment, process, and product performance testing
- Manage Engineering aspects for qualifying and changes in raw materials, vendors and perform investigations for non-conformances
- Support for new equipment and process validations
Qualifications & Experience - Reliability Improvement & Projects Engineer
- Engineering Degree or HNC/ NVQ level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering manuals and Drawings
- Excellent PC, Data Analysis and Communication skills
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six-Sigma Certification ideal but not essential
- Project management certification would be awesome
- Proven experience in regulated time sensitive manufacturing environment
- Project Engineering experience
- Able to apply Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Proven experience of leading CI maintenance and change within a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods or fast paced manufacturing environment
- Ideally an HNC/ Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or related subject
- Lean tools and techniques training
- Project management tools
