Location: Knaresborough area - A1 access commutable from North Leeds, Harrogate, Bradford etc
Job Reward: £28 – 32k DOE
Rotating Days based role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, your main responsibility is to provide technical quality support to the technical department, to maintain safety, quality and legality of the products.
To work with Site Technical and Operations teams to ensure production quality.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities: Quality Assurance Officer
- Assist in maintaining the site packing standards and product quality through application of line checks
- Assist in site customer complaint investigations as required
- Management systems including system audits
- Assist in the investigation of quality incidents effectively liaising with operations and engineering departments to identify causes and corrective/ preventative action
- Monitor, control and audit the production process
- Ensure that conformity and non-conformity are communicated, followed up and closed off
- Investigate any incidents applying root cause analysis
- Support the leadership team during any external accreditation
- Carry out internal audits and routine Food Safety inspections
- Conduct the site traceability exercises
- Managing Product quality Standards
- Managing raw material non-conformances
- Involvement in preparing for audits
Role Requirements: Quality Assurance Officer
- Graduate calibre, knowledge of food legislation and food safety principles
- Possess good communication skills both written and verbal and must be computer literate.
- Ability to influence & challenge
- HACCP qualification
- Experience of working in a Food, FMCG or related manufacturing environment
- Internal audit training
- Food Safety Level 2 ideal
- HACCP Level 2 ideal
- Ability to work quickly, accurately and safely
- Ability to work to high levels of accuracy
- As well as a keen eye for detail you will also need:
- The confidence to challenge with a proactive and ‘can do’ attitude
- To be a team player and an effective communicator
- Good PC skills (especially Google)
- Food experience in a technical or similar type role.
- A HACCP qualification or a food safety qualification (ideally)
- A good awareness of computer based programmes such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
