  • Reporting to the Head of Engineering, a large site with multiple manufacturing plants or factory production units. You are the new Engineering Maintenance Manager.
  • Leading 4 direct reports and 30+ craft engineers
  • This will suit an experienced Maintenance or Engineering Manager who has led front-line managers, Engineering Shift Managers/Engineering Team Leaders who in turn lead multi-skilled craft engineers
  • You could also be an aspiring Maintenance Manager who is ready for a bigger challenge
  • Leading the maintenance engineering technical change agenda for the factory/ plant, to improve line performance, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles – TPM

 

Key Responsibilities – Engineering Maintenance Manager

 

  • Ensure engineering resources (people/headcount) and technical skill set is maximised
  • Owning a multi-million engineering budget
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance (PM) program
  • Manage corrective maintenance activities
  • Standardize maintenance procedures
  • Drive engineering performance improvements, lead projects, manage multi-million-pound budgets, and lead your teams to strive for world-class engineering & Maintenance excellence
  • Develop autonomous maintenance programmes – subject matter expert in maintenance
  • Continuous improvement and reengineering in everything you do
  • Develop a maintenance strategy with the factory management, to ensure that the productive capacity of the plant is optimised and improved for the ever-changing needs of the business.
  • You will create, implement, and manage the engineering maintenance strategy
  • Monitor operational efficiency of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under-performance or opportunity and improvements and implement a maintenance strategy
  • Develop engineering skills through a structured people development programme.
  • Project Management: Manage maintenance-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.

 

Qualifications and Requirements – Engineering Maintenance Manager

 

  • Experience in delivering maintenance improvement projects
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful maintenance programs
  • Strong understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus
  • Experience in leading technical frontline maintenance, services, and project teams
  • Track record of using advanced manufacturing techniques (E.g. WCM/TPM/Lean)
  • HNC/HND within an engineering discipline
  • Track record of delivering continuous improvement
  • Engineering and maintenance leadership at a middle management level in a manufacturing, FMCG, Process or automation environment – open on industry, if you are a good leader!
