We are attracting a Graduate Quality Metrology and Calibration Technician / Engineer / to join the Greater Manchester facility

Job role: to coordinate and carry out routine maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment.

Role Responsibilities: Graduate Quality Calibration Officer

  • Working within the Metrology Division of the Engineering department, you will also provide metrology support for all equipment systems, troubleshooting and rectifying equipment breakdowns
  • Also, planning and scheduling service and calibration engineering
  • Working with eights measures and temperature control equipment onsite
  • Carry out routine maintenance and calibration tasks on schedule to ensure that laboratory equipment remains in service and valid for use (i.e., Pipettes, Balances, Incubators etc.)
  • Coordinate maintenance and collaboration documentation compliance requirements
  • Initiate/upgrade preventive maintenance and calibration process specifications
  • Maintains SOP for instrumentation/metrology
  • Maintains an accurate inventory of instruments, consumables, and spare parts. Works closely with Supply Chain to ensure inventory records and database are kept up to date
  • Liaison with outside contractors and vendors for equipment repairs or contract maintenance

What does your day-to-day look like? Graduate Quality Calibration Officer

  • Carry out routine maintenance and calibration tasks on schedule to ensure that laboratory equipment remains in service and valid for use (i.e., Pipettes, Balances, Incubators etc.)
  • -Support equipment validation initiative with regards to Metrology input
  • Coordinate maintenance and collaboration documentation compliance requirements with vendors
  • Maintain and upkeep the equipment assets in the electronic data management system with all maintenance and calibration events
  • Investigate technical requirements and initiate/upgrade preventive maintenance and calibration process specifications

Role Requirements: Graduate Quality Calibration Officer

  • A' Level, TEC or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline
  • Suitable for a developing graduate that wants to build their cv and experience level in a global company in a technical, quality and engineering support role
  • Experience in calibration and/or maintenance support for a manufacturing company, or equivalent, with demonstrated skills in writing complex calibration SOPs and technical operating procedures
  • Understanding of technical metrology requirements, assisting  calibration specifications, coordinating, and monitoring new equipment
  • We are looking for a talented Metrology Engineer / maintenance systems planner to join our Manchester facility to coordinate and carry out routine maintenance and calibration of all laboratory equipment.
  • Demonstratable experience working in a cGMP environment to ISO or FDA regulatory standards is desirable
  • Experience in calibration and/or maintenance support is ideal for a pharmaceutical, medical device, or biotech manufacturing company, or equivalent, with demonstrated skills in writing complex calibration SOPs and technical operating procedures
  • Good planning skills to produce project timelines, good with systems and data
