Job Title: Multi-skilled Engineering Technician

Location: Doncaster

Pay Range/details: Competitive salary + shift allowance + overtime premiums

Contract Type: Permanent

We are recruiting for a Multi-skilled Engineering Technician required to join a busy and fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting production through effective maintenance and engineering activities.

 

Key Responsibilities - Multi-skilled Engineering Technician

  • Carry out day to day engineering and maintenance activities across production facilities
  • Ensure maximum plant availability through fault finding diagnosis and repair of equipment including conveyors elevators form fill and seal machines and palletisers
  • Support both planned and reactive maintenance to maximise operational efficiency
  • Maintain electrical plant equipment and control systems including PLC and SCADA
  • Assist with planned maintenance schedules including shutdown activities
  • Install and commission new plant equipment including electrical and mechanical systems
  • Work with pneumatics hydraulics and fabrication as required
  • Communicate maintenance activities effectively with production and engineering teams
  • Follow safe systems of work and comply with all health safety and environmental policies

 

Qualifications & Requirements - Multi-skilled Engineering Technician

  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification such as BTEC ONC or similar
  • 17th Edition Regulations Certificate or equivalent
  • Proven experience in engineering maintenance within a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair skills
  • Experience working with PLC and SCADA systems
  • Experience using preventive maintenance systems and CMMS
  • Background in FMCG or high volume manufacturing environments
  • Experience with high speed packaging equipment and robotics systems
  • Knowledge of pneumatics hydraulics and control systems
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles such as TPM 5S and Six Sigma

Mobile Maintenance Electrician

My client is on the lookout for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the team. You will have the opportunity to work on one of their leading supermarket contracts.

The role will involve maintaining and repairing a range of electrical, mechanical and catering equipment in retail outlets, undertaking regular planned store visits to complete reactive work, PPMs and minor repairs as requested by the customer.

Key Responsibilities – Mobile Maintenance Electrician

Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. Deliver reactive and planned catering and bakery equipment maintenanceConduct emergency lighting and fire alarm tests and repairs.Complete general repairs and maintenance to customer sitesIdentify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.

Qualifications & Experience – Mobile Maintenance Electrician

NVQ Level 3/City and guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance. City and Guilds 18th Edition.AM2 / 2391

On Offer – Mobile Maintenance Electrician

£40,593.78 (Inclusive of Standby (1:4 x 13 Periods) & Competency Payment) + overtime + travel timeIncludes a £1,500 competency payment will be added to the basic salary upon completion of electrical fault training for catering and bakery equipment. The training, provided by the employer during the probation period, includes two one-week training blocks. 40 hour weekTravel time paid after half hour each wayOT paid at 1.5x Mon – Fri / 2x Sat-SunCompany pension scheme (matched up to 5%)Private healthcare (BUPA)Various employee discount schemes

Main Duties- Stores Assistant

Ensuring that correct procedures are followed for storage of materialsCarrying out stock checks and replenishing inventory as needed.Accurately picking and packing materials.Issuing parts to the production floor in a timely manner.Operating MRP/ERP systems to manage inventory and materials.Ensuring full compliance with company procedures and standards.
