Job Title: Senior Controls Engineer

Location: Telford

Our client is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join their team in Telford. As a Senior Controls Engineer Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering engineering work packages, ensuring successful project delivery by designing and implementing control systems, optimising processes, and supporting testing phases to meet client requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities - Senior Controls Engineer

  • Understand client needs and develop electrical/controls concept designs (e.g., Functional Design Specification, Single Line Diagram, Cause & Effect Matrix).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Hardware Design team, reviewing designs and handing over specifications.
  • Create Software Design Specifications and deliverables for PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other systems.
  • Contribute to the Technical Construction File and support Factory Acceptance Testing, Commissioning, and Site Acceptance Testing.
  • Follow internal processes and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications & Requirements - Senior Controls Engineer

  • Minimum HND/Foundation Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of control system design and implementation principles.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and hands-on approach.

This role is a 6-month opportunity with a great hourly rate, 4 day week (Mon-Thurs) and flexible working arrangements.You will be working form our clients Advanced Manufacturing Facility, supporting the supply chain team with the development and production of projects within the aerospace and defense industry.
