Job Title: Vehicle Technician

Pay Range/details: £30,000 - £40,000 basic OTE £48,000

Omega is collaborating with a family-owned automotive dealership known for its dedication to customer service, ensuring a welcoming and reliable experience for all visitors. The dealership represents a variety of well-known car brands, offering both new and used vehicles. They also provide maintenance, repair services, and MOT testing, and are now seeking Vehicle Technician to join their team.
You’ll have a strong technical background and be able to efficiently and skilfully carry out the repair and servicing of customers' vehicles, while identifying and diagnosing any additional faults for further repair, ensuring all work is completed safely and to the customer's satisfaction
Key Responsibilities – Vehicle Technician
- Perform diagnostics using specialised tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles
- Conduct repairs and replacements of defective parts, including brakes, suspensions, exhaust systems, engines, and transmissions
- Perform scheduled servicing on vehicles, including oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and filter replacements
- Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet safety and performance standards, conducting pre-inspection tests and final quality checks after repairs
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs, maintenance work, and parts used. Update service records and document the issues resolved
- Communicate with customers to discuss vehicle problems and solutions, providing cost estimates and timeframes for repair completion
- Adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines when handling vehicle repairs and parts
- Maintain tools and diagnostic equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order and calibrated as needed
Qualifications & Requirements – Vehicle Technician
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanics, electrical systems, and diagnostics
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues efficiently
- Keen eye for identifying potential issues and performing repairs accurately
- Good communication skills for explaining vehicle problems and solutions to customers
- Ability to collaborate with other technicians and team members in a busy workshop environment
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and tools
