Job Title: NDT Technician
Location: Wolverhampton
Pay Range/details: £40,000 - £45,000
Contract Type: Permanent
We are collaborating with a large automotive engineering company that are known for designing and manufacturing high-performance engines and electronics. They work mainly with car manufacturers, motorsports teams, and high-performance vehicle makers, providing advanced engine technology, powertrains, and data systems.
They’re looking for an experienced NDT Technician who is wanting to be a part of a hardworking and highly dedicated team, and provide support to the Central Quality Team
Key Responsibilities – NDT Technician
- To carry out daily checks for both penetrant and magnetics and keep log up to date
- To inspect components for discontinuities to prescribed specifications
- To collect and send penetrant samples for analysis
- Maintain NDT equipment and standards in line with the international, Cosworth and customer requirements
- In addition to the above, the NDT technician will be expected to fulfil any other reasonable requirements consistent with departmental objectives
- Maintain consumables levels
- Keep personal qualifications including eye tests up to date
- Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities
- Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice
Qualifications & Requirements – NDT Technician
- Technical specialist
- NDT Level Il qualification to BS EN4179 NAS 410 or working toward
- Able to exercise technical judgement, using sound engineering principles and appropriate experience
- Effective in planning, management, and implementation of NDT activities
- Familiar with following and using quality systems and procedures
- Understand and take account of technical, commercial, and competitive factors that characterise the business
- Able to select and deliver technical and company information for effective internal and external communication
- Personal and professional integrity and responsible attitude to the requirements within a manufacturing and engineering environment
- Able to interact with others to operate effectively within team activities
Desirable
- Computer literate in Microsoft office.
- A good understanding of NDT International standards.
- A good understanding of Quality Standards AS9100 and IS09001.
- Good understanding of machined aluminium components, castings and forgings
