Job Description

Our client are the UK’s biggest commercial vehicle fleet management business managing and maintaining a fleet of 85,000 vehicles across 55 garages.

They have an excellent opportunity for a Warranty Co-ordinator to join the business. As the Warranty Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for managing the warranty process across multiple vehicle manufacturers, to ensure we maximise the revenue potential of our warranty status. You will act as point of technical expertise in the identification and resolution of national defects and safety concerns for all fleets including externals managed by the company.  Manage where required assigned recalls, ensuring accurate data loaded and all relevant and affected areas are informed of campaigns within agreed timescales.  Provision of technical support and information to Workshops, the Contractor workshop network, internal and external customers, and other departments within the company.  Determine the maintenance policies for the various vehicle fleets maintained and maintenance of the service schedules and associated service times in Willow.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparation and validation of rework instructions covering manufacturer recalls, complex customer order work requests, and customer driven campaigns e.g. change of livery.
  • Support the business to ensure customer safety, compliance and outstanding customer experience
  • To develop and maintain the team in order to provide efficient operation of the unit and where required to assist across the team achieve department objectives and peaks of work.
  • To manage all Technical support aspects within the Fleet take on procedures as part of new Fleet Management an SMR business wins within set timescales.
  • To manage preparation and issue of vehicle/plant specific service aide memoirs for Fleet and external fleet make model variants detailing the specific service content of every service type.
  • To manage the support of manufacturer technical data sources including data discs and web based vehicle technical data. Advise the network where information is not accessible under normal Fleet procedures.
  • To liaise with vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and Technical bodies establishing the most effective methods of rectifying national vehicle defects and safety concerns.
  • To manage action addressing in-service vehicle concerns where rectification to new vehicle production may be necessary or retrospective action should be considered.
  • To manage the implementation of “in service” vehicle modifications.  Along with the “vehicle take-on” processes for newly won business.
  • To manage the provision of Vehicle Technical Support and Information to all relevant parties within fleet operations, including fleet workshops, Contractor workshops, and other departments within fleet.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Recognised motor trade apprenticeship or other equivalent formal industry training
  • City & Guilds Vehicle Craft Studies/technical or BTEC equivalent (min C&G Pts 1, 2 & 3)
  • Computer Literate with strong knowledge of MS Office software, particularly Excel & Word
  • Up to date knowledge of vehicle & bodybuilding manufacturing/fabrication techniques
  • Experience in first and second stage multi-supplier relationships. Ability to negotiate and lead and ‘own’ end to end vehicle conversions, in-life enhancements and product innovation/change
  • Competent and thorough understanding of current vehicle safety legislation. Aware of future technology and market place products within this field
  • Computer Literate with strong knowledge of MS Office software, particularly Excel & Word
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Able to work efficiently as part of a team or alone
