Job Title:            Warehouse Team Leader

My client, a manufacturer of bespoke products is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader to join them. You will be reporting to the Warehouse and Distribution Manager and will be responsible for effective and efficient organisation of the warehouse staff in Goods In, kitting, Goods Out and stock control. 

In this role you will be working a double days shift pattern of 6AM – 2PM and 2PM – 10PM, alternating every week.

Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility of smooth running of the warehouse shift in terms of staff management, warehouse operations, quality targets and HSE requirements
  • Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace, actively promoting strong HSE compliance, including proactive accident and near miss reporting
  • Ensure accuracy of Business & Warehouse Management Systems against physical stock positions, supporting understanding of variance root causes and implementing associated corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure fork lift trucks, VNAs and other equipment are regularly checked and repairs are reported to the Facilities Manager
  • Assist the Warehouse & Distribution Manager with their annual stock count and associated monthly cycle counts
  • Ensure quarantined parts are clearly segregated from clean stock, supporting regular review and disposition activities
  • Take full responsibility of the quality of product being picked within companies quality systems, processes and procedures
  • Promote and ensure compliance with company policies & procedures
  • Manage, develop and motivate reporting staff, ensuring training skills are met for current and future demands of the shift
  • Monitor, measure and report on warehouse related process performance, general issues
  • Actively promote clear communication and ensure continuous improvement principles are implemented across the department

Person Specification

  • Previously demonstrated warehouse supervisory experience ideally in a high volume manufacturing support capacity
  • FLT / VNA experience or qualifications
  • People management qualification
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proactive and personable, an organised, self-motivated individual who is an enthusiastic and committed team player
  • Excellent timekeeping
  • IT literate – with experience of using Warehouse Management Systems
