Our client are an international engineering company specialising in the manufacture, installation and servicing of a range of automated material handling systems. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of the creation of technical content within an engineering environment.

Responsibilities – Technical Author

  • Rationalise, standardise and automate business practices to remove waste and improve productivity.
  • Management and development of the Document Control team.
  • Lead project/product change control board meetings.
  • Define and create IBM Rational requirements management structure for each project.
  • Identify gaps, areas of opportunity and design process improvements through business modelling techniques.
  • Assist in defining and mapping business activities to business processes as and when required.
  • Liaison with tender and project teams to align the project requirement structure to meet client requirements.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts to create technical content.
  • Understand the technology and applications for which documentation is to be prepared.
  • Organising information according to user needs.
  • Generate and modify Crystal Reports to generate spares reports for use in technical documentation.
  • Administration and development of company SharePoint systems.
  • Management of the Document Control team.
  • Management and development of document control processes for the business.

Experience/Qualifications – Health and Safety Manager

  • Certification in electronic records management (desirable).
  • Experience of document control within an engineering environment (essential).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • IT literate, with experience of IBM Rational Suite of Tools (essential).
  • Good written, verbal and people-management skills.
  • ILM qualification or equivalent (desirable).
