Role: Test Engineer

Location: South Bristol / North Somerset

Industry: Engineering / Manufacturing

Employment: Ongoing Contract (Long Term)

Monday to Friday – 6am – 2pm and 2pm – 10pm

£17.00 (AM Shift) or £20.40 (PM Shift) -  PAYE 

£22.20 (AM Shift) or £26.50 (PM Shift) - Umbrella

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Team Leader with  excellent leadership skills to oversee a team of Manufacturing Technicians for a prominant engineering and manufacturing business in the South West of England.

You will need to have prior Team leadership experience, and a background working within a manufacturing environment with the capability to understand technical issues.

Duties:

• Ensure Health and safety standards are achieved
• Ensure communications are clear on an interdepartmental basis.
• Control day to day manufacturing activities at shop floor level.
• To manage the cell and ensure that the team understand its targets.
• Support Cell Manufacturing Engineer in identifying areas for improvement.
• Support and implement agreed process changes.
• Ensuring effective use of people, time and resource.
• Supports fellow cell members through active listening and coaching.
• Maintain the 6S process within the cell to ensure that it's in accordance with the current standard.
• Stand in for next level management when required or peers
• To manage any behavioural or performance issues within the team.
• To act as a point of reference for quality and technical matters.
• Responsible for development/training and motivation of team members 
• Ensure all individual training and development requirements are identified 

Background:

• Significant experience of leading, motivating and developing a team
• HNC or equivalent in a manufacturing or engineering discipline 
• Have a responsible approach to H&S 
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
