Job Title: Systems Engineer & Developer

Location: Southampton

Pay Range/details: £300 to £360 per day

Contract Type: 6-month FTC

Key Responsibilities – Engineer & Developer

  • Interface with and debug PLC software and understand the various communication networks used.
  • Write queries to retrieve data from databases.
  • Interpret, modify, and debug HMI/SCADA software as per programme needs.
  • Participate in team project meetings, track project schedules, responsibilities of work, and coordinate with contractors.
  • Focused Ignition developer, working on expanding an emerging platform.
  • Creating solutions through Ignition, using Python script and being able to integrate well with all external components.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Engineer & Developer

  • Inductive Automation Ignition developer.
  • Python skills.
  • Self-motivated & proactive attitude to challenges.
  • Adaptable and operates with integrity.
  • Eye for detail.
  • Organised, diligent, with strong work ethic.
  • Task focused with a drive for quality & excellence.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently, working on your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of SCADA programming experience is required.
  • One (1) to Three (3) years of PLC programming experience is required.
  • Multi-vendor device knowledge.
  • Basic IT networking awareness.
  • Basic Industrial switch knowledge.
  • Panel wiring experience.
  • Comfortable with interpreting wiring schematics.
  • Change Management experience.
  • Good IT standards and security appreciation.
  • Awareness of programming languages, creating, and modifying code.
  • Good understanding of programming best practices.
  • Expression language understanding.
  • OT Software Platform experience from fault finding to front end development using CSS and other languages.
  • Basic SQL language awareness.
