Supplier Performance Controller

Our client are a national fleet management company who are seeking a supplier performance controller to join their growing company. The role will responsible for supporting the business in identifying and onboarding new garages into their national network.

Principal Purpose of Position:

  • To support the identification, selection and management of car and LCV service, maintenance and repair vendors
  • To be the process owner responsible for allocating vehicles and assets to vendors within published timeframes, and for maintaining the accuracy and completeness of this data, liaising with vendors and colleagues where necessary to identify the most suitable vendor.
  • Be responsible for managing the vendors to ensure all authorized work is invoiced within stipulated timeframes
  • Manage phone and email communications to and from the Networks as required
  • Promptly and effectively manage allocated queries and complaints relating to network performance
  • Be the point of escalation and manage issues referred from other operational teams relating to document provision from vendors, taking necessary action to secure accurate documentation
  • Support activity to improve the network use of company systems
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and/or Training:

  • A good general level of education is required and the ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good technical knowledge of car and commercial vehicles, and associated assets, and an understanding of regulatory requirements of these vehicles and assets
  • Trained in the effective management of customer complaints and handling challenging phone calls
  • Experienced in data collation & data management activities; adept in the use of excel and IT systems generally and able to grasp new software applications easily and quickly

Relevant Work Experience:

  • A good understanding of what is essentially required from garages to service, maintain and repair cars and light commercial vehicles to an excellent standard, and experience in the selection and recruitment of quality garages / agents to provide the required services
  • Experienced working within a team environment engaged in managing the key operational aspects of maintaining vehicle fleets, including liaison with, and challenging where appropriate, garages on matters of cost control, work authorisation, downtime management, and invoicing
  • Knowledge of vehicle mechanics gained through practical experience, encompassing a thorough understanding of service and maintenance schedules and procedures, repair times and methods
  • Knowledge and experience of regulatory and compliance requirements in the commercial vehicle industry
  • Experience in a role where actively maintaining accurate data in systems was a key requirement 
  • Experience in a customer facing role, or a role that involved direct customer interaction, managing complaints, resolving complex issues, and providing quality information to customers
