Overview – Software Engineer

My client, a bespoke manufacturer, are currently recruiting for a software engineer to join their talented team in Edinburgh. The successful software engineer will be tasked with the design, development and maintenance of software applications for a range of exciting and innovative products. The ideal candidate will be proficient in their knowledge and use of C++.

 

Role Responsibilities – Software Engineer

  • Ultimately responsible for the full software lifecycle including research, design, development, and debugging of new and existing software applications

  • Perform routine Debugging and Quality testing of new software builds. Investigate and resolve User reported Bugs/Features in existing software builds.

  • Liaise with users in order to gain an understanding for customer requirement or to identify required changes or modifications to software application

  • Work with management and cross functional teams to clarify project intentions, identify problems, or suggest changes.

  • Completing relevant documentation relating to software applications.

  • Assist in the creation of End User documentation and Product User Guides.

  • Evaluate and identify new Technologies and Tools for implementation

 

Skills/Experience – Software Engineer

  • Degree Educated in Computer Science or relevant subject

  • 3 years’ experience within software applications within an engineering/manufacturing environment

  • Proficiency with C++ coding

  • Experience with Windows and Linux systems

  • Ability to communicate at all levels
