Overview – Software Engineer
My client, a bespoke manufacturer, are currently recruiting for a software engineer to join their talented team in Edinburgh. The successful software engineer will be tasked with the design, development and maintenance of software applications for a range of exciting and innovative products. The ideal candidate will be proficient in their knowledge and use of C++.
Role Responsibilities – Software Engineer
Ultimately responsible for the full software lifecycle including research, design, development, and debugging of new and existing software applications
Perform routine Debugging and Quality testing of new software builds. Investigate and resolve User reported Bugs/Features in existing software builds.
Liaise with users in order to gain an understanding for customer requirement or to identify required changes or modifications to software application
Work with management and cross functional teams to clarify project intentions, identify problems, or suggest changes.
Completing relevant documentation relating to software applications.
Assist in the creation of End User documentation and Product User Guides.
Evaluate and identify new Technologies and Tools for implementation
Skills/Experience – Software Engineer
Degree Educated in Computer Science or relevant subject
3 years’ experience within software applications within an engineering/manufacturing environment
Proficiency with C++ coding
Experience with Windows and Linux systems
Ability to communicate at all levels
