Pay Range/details: £41,000 - £45,000

Contract Type: Permanent

Our client is looking for a Senior Underwriter to review applications and amendments to applications for their products, arranging terms which reflect the degree of risk and ensuring agreed KPI’s are adhered to at all times.

Key Responsibilities – Senior Underwriter

• Managing a case load of applications and/or amendments to applications and making decisions on the terms to be offered as appropriate, and in consideration of risk factors, in a professional and timely manner
• Managing a case load of Change of Occupation notifications and Reviewable Exclusions.
• Managing a case load of Claims Misrepresentation cases.
• Managing adhoc Pre-Application telephone/email enquiries
• Making decisions with regard to cases which need to be referred to the Senior Underwriter, Chief Underwriter or Chief Medical Officer of the client and progressing as necessary to ensure a speedy resolution to queries

Qualifications & Requirements – Senior Underwriter

• 2+ years IP underwriting experience
• Experience of working successfully within a team
• Experience of dealing with financial advisers
• ACII qualification (or studying towards)
• Experience of working successfully within a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy while remaining calm under pressure.
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills
• Methodical and well organised
• Consultative approach, with the ability to simplify and articulate complex issues to a range of stakeholders.
• Influencing and relationship building skills
• Ability to effectively manage workload across multiple activities.

What we can offer – Senior Underwriter

• Maximum 10% of base salary based on agreed achieved KPI’s and paid annually
• 25 days plus public holidays
• Monday to Friday 8.45am to 5pm with one hour for lunch – 36.25 hours per week
