Project Lead – Business Intelligence

Our client are a national fleet management company who due to continued growth are seeking a Project Lead Business Analyst to join them.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise report analysts including training, performance evaluation, mentoring, project delivery and assessment

  • Communicate directly with customers (internal and external) to identify requirements

  • Make recommendations to analyse and depict information in ways relevant to objectives

  • Highlight where data or business processes are insufficient to support reporting requirements

  • Create scope of work documentation

  • Provide estimated work efforts

  • Develop, test, and deploy reporting and management information solutions using a robust software development lifecycle

  • Collaborate with the Information Management team to ensure data structures are available within the reporting systems

  • Ensure access control lists and configurations are maintained to restrict access to reports

  • Communicate project and task progress on request, and using project management systems, to customers (internal and external) and colleagues

  • Create and maintain a catalogue of reports, including documentation describing the purpose of each report, a description of the data presented, and the logic used within each report

  • Create and maintain a standard set of reports for each of the company’s products, departments, and overall business performance measures

  • Create and maintain the organisation of reports within the reporting systems

  • Identify opportunities to enhance and maintain existing reports that are produced on a reoccurring basis

  • Manage and optimise the reporting project request queue and ‘gate’ process

Experience

  • Working knowledge of SQL.

  • Must be proficient with using Business Objects 4.2 to create reports from disparate sources.

  • Must be proficient with using Microsoft Excel and VBA

  • Familiar with relational and OLAP database technology and terminology.

  • Familiar with PowerBI

  • Experience with scheduling and bursting Business Objects reports.

  • The ability to think critically is required.

  • Must be able to manage multiple priorities and pay close attention to detail.

  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed.

  • Act in the best interest of the client and the organization at all times.

  • Maintain a consistent, positive and professional manner in all dealings.

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently, within a team, with other functional departments.
