Overview - Project Engineer

My client, a leading manufacturer, are currently recruiting for a Test Equipment Project Engineer to join their brilliant facility in the West Midlands. The successful Project Engineer will be responsible for leading and coordinating project activities to ensure delivery of complex Test Systems in line with customer requirements. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deploy test systems at internal facilities alongside customer sites.

 

Role Responsibilities - Project Engineer

  • Coordinate activities with multi-discipline technical teams across multiple locations to define, develop, deploy and release complex test equipment solutions.

  • Creation and presentation of detailed Test Equipment Proposals.

  • Define and own project schedules, resource and financial forecasts

  • Generation, update and formal release of Test Equipment Documentation during project activities.

  • Manage procurement of test equipment solutions, sub-assemblies, services and components to support Test Equipment development.

  • Define and manage work packages with external suppliers from RFQ to acceptance.

  • Support Root Cause investigations into all aspects of the Test Equipment Systems and/ or components as required.

  • Support internal and external Quality Audits of deployed test equipment systems.

  • Actively participate in 5S/continuous improvement activities.

 

Qualifications/Skills - Project Engineer

  • Degree Educated in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Project Management, Aeronautical), or relevant industrial experience.

  • Experience of design and development testing within a relevant engineering sector (Aerospace, Automotive, Test Equipment).

  • Experience in the development of test equipment solutions.

  • Experienced in the use of MS Project alongside wider MS Office software

  • A Project Management qualification (APM, etc.) would be beneficial
