Position: Production Operator
Pay rate: Initial rate is £10.92/hr rising to £11.31/hr after training
Working hours: 39 hours per week
Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 07.45 am to 16.45 and on Fridays 07.45 am to 12.45 pm
Type of position: Temp to Perm
We are now seeking to recruit 10 Production Operators to work for a defence and aerospace components and system manufacturing business based in Gloucester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Production Operator to develop skills in aerospace and defence sector.
The appropriate Production operator will have previous experience working in manufacturing environment and will be willing to be trained.
Key duties and responsibilities of Production Operator will involve
Set up and operate machines such as fly press operations, corrugating and dimpling
Adherence to all relevant quality and internal procedures
Select gauge and type of sheet metal such as stainless steel, and titanium or non-metallic material such as fibrous insulation according to product specifications.
Layout and mark dimensions and reference on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates.
Shape metal material using jigs and fixtures.
Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff and smooth surfaces.
Spot weld, component parts to assemble products
Inspect products for compliance with specifications and quality requirements.
Understand shop floor documentation
Stamp Documentation to indicate the completion of tasks
The appropriate Production Operator will have:
Previous experience in working with production/ manufacturing environment
Ideally have experience of using metal forming equipment or hand tools including tinsnips, nibblers, hand shears, grinders/cutters, linishers and hand drills
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Ability to use measuring equipment
Keen attention to detail
This position is also suitable for anyone with experience in: Warehouse Operative, Factory Operative, Assembly Operative, Tool Operator, Welder, Machine Operator, Production Operator and Inspector
