My client is currently looking for a Production area manager who will be responsible to help my client in their growth period while stabilising all levels of manufacturing moving forwards. Ideally the right person will come from a fast-paced manufacturing environment background.


As the Area Manager you will install basic manufacturing principles and drive this area of the business forward using lean manufacturing techniques with a clear focus on continuous improvement. Build a team and lead the manufacturing element of the business. The Area Manager will be responsible for the entire manufacturing process including health and safety, quality control in line with the overall operations strategy and be cost focussed and commercially astute.

• Ensuring all aspects of health & safety, environmental and quality compliance is maintained throughout

• To manage the manufacturing plan, ensuring it is adhered to as efficiently as possible to meet customer demands and operational targets

• Working to ISO standards

• Monitor the manufacturing plan and adjust schedules in line with the overall supply chain requirements

• Build team competencies and capabilities that will grow and develop in line with the business growth plan

• Standardise production practices and processes, through agreeing and implementing production KPI's

• Introduce the monitoring of productivity rates and production standards and implement quality control programs

• Collate and analyse data, putting together manufacturing reports

• Review team and individuals’ performance and identify training needs



• Proven track record of leading and developing teams

• Ability to build and develop a positive team culture

• Has a background in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Have an extensive knowledge of operations processes and techniques. Be able to prioritise and organise work efficiently and effectively. Be driven to achieve objectives, regardless of problems. Achieve objectives. Transmit information in a clear, concise, and confident manner. Be consistent, accurate and ensure that procedures are followed.


Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of H&S requirements in a Production environment

• NEBOSH qualified (Desirable)

• ILM Level 4 qualified, or equivalent

• Lean manufacturing skills 5S, RCA, SMED
