Position:                       Product Manager (Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels)

Location:                      Birmingham

Salary:                         £40000 to £45000

Due to our client expansion we are now seeking to recruit Product Manager Electric Vehicles & Alternative Fuels (EV/AF) who would be responsible for detailing the company’s EV/AF strategy as part of the overall company strategy and proposing key initiatives to the board, which implement the EV/AF strategy.  The appropriate candidate will coordinate all initiatives and manage the core projects directly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting Market research to establish the size of the target market, competitor landscape and establishing the market opportunity

  • Develop product strategies that ensure investments are in line with company wider business strategy, are innovative within the market sector and provide business with clear differentiation and competitive advantage

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, engineering and operations to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met

  • Produce product development plans that include:

    • Project plans for the development of new products (budget, resources & timescales), including investment cases with projected Return on Investment

    • Business plans on future revenue projections, market share and product Profit and Loss projections.

  • Map out business and customer requirements to define the current and future scope of product offerings

  • Working with key suppliers and vendors to enhance business capability, leverage 3rd party innovation and create value through partnerships

  • Own the roadmap for EV/AF products

  • Build up consultancy skills which enable business to advise and support our customers on their adoption of EV/AF within their fleet

  • Work with the Sales organisation to define Go To Market campaigns and support sales opportunities

  • Work with Operational departments to ensure operational readiness, including providing standard operating procedures, employee training and transition into Business as Usual operation.

  • Maintaining market and EV/AF technology awareness to continue to evolve product capability to take advantage of changes in the market or the emergence of new EV/AF technologies

Experience

  • Previous experience in the space of Electric Vehicles or sustainability – ideally in the automobile industry

  • Held a similar senior role within Product Management field

  • Able to demonstrate success in developing leading products and executing against the market

  • Skilled to work with customers

  • Strong technical background with a good understand of the EV/AF technologies used within big data analytics and mobile solutions

  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams

  • Project Management skill to deliver projects to time, cost and quality criteria

  • Commercial skills in budgeting, business cases and product pricing

  • Specialist knowledge in EV/AF

  • Understanding of Sales and Marketing strategies

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Degree qualification within a relevant subject matter
