Our client is the world leader in the design and manufacture of precision products for the medical sector. They currently require a Procurement Manager based at their Gloucestershire facility.

The Procurement Manager shall manage and control the relationships with suppliers of raw materials, factored products and services. Responsible for developing supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery and cost meet the needs of the business.


-Define procurement policy and strategy for all materials and services.
-Develop and maintain relationships at a senior level with key suppliers to build a partnership approach and ensure they are able to flex to meet our business demands.
-Negotiate and complete supplier contracts including price, quality, and delivery performance metrics in order to obtain and maintain optimal value for money
-Develop supplier assessment process to measure and rank supplier performance, along with appropriate KPIs for the procurement function and key suppliers.
-Compile, propose and control the annual Procurement materials and services budget so that company business planning and decision making is facilitated.
-Implement and audit internal procedures, for the control of the purchase of goods and services ensuring that these procedures are adhered to at all times.
-Manage tender process for all major expenditure projects
-Initiate and support cost reduction projects in order to satisfy customer requirements at lowest ultimate cost and deliver long term savings on all bought in materials and services.
-Develop a supply chain approach which ensures agreed inventory and lead-times, consistent with demand and in line with working capital constraints.
-Identify and develop new sources of supply and new product and service opportunities world-wide in order to maintain optimal value for money and maximum competitive advantage.

Experience and Qualifications

-Demonstrable Procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
-CIPS Qualification or equivalent experience
