PLC Engineer

£33,000 - £40,000 + Bonus
Our client are an international manufacturing company with several locations around the UK, they are seeking an experienced PLC engineer to join their growing team. Whilst the role is based out of Wantage the successful candidate will need to be willing to travel to different client sites.
Role Brief – PLC Engineer
Responsible for a range of electrical, control and PLC tasks relating to the deployment of the clients bespoke factory manufacturing execution system
Experience of factory level network communications preferably involving automated high speed data collection.
Proven ability to meet challenging deadlines and targets within a dynamic project and factory environment
Responsibilities – PLC Engineer
Responsible for plant surveys and detailed design proposals that establish the scope of work required in each plant.
Implementing the required PLC program and hardware changes in conjunction with plant electrical teams according to approved plans.
Validation of data collected from PLC and server.
Design activities will involve: -
Interfacing with instrumentation and sensors specified for machine and process control.
Data capture and validation.
Designing and implementing PLC networks.
Programming a range of PLCs including Allen Bradley, Siemens and Omron.
Experience/Qualifications – PLC Engineer
Educated to degree level or an equivalent higher-level qualification in electrical and control engineering or closely related discipline is preferred, or relevant knowledge and experience accrued through career.
Minimum 2 years proven ability in the design and commissioning of control and electrical systems for machines and high-speed production lines
Experience of the design process from specification through to implementation and final validation
Working knowledge and an understanding of electrical schematics, PLC logics & HMI designs
