Parts Manager

£38,000 - £43,000

Our client are a national fleet management company who are seeking a parts manager to join their growing team. The successful individual will be dealing with first and second tier parts supplier or motor manufacturer relationships. To negotiate on the provision and availability of parts, whilst maintaining service levels.

Responsibilities

  • Act as single point of contact for Parts technical expertise and commercial guidance for internal & external customers
  • Responsible for the delivery of the Parts function, taking necessary remedial and corrective action where necessary
  • Liaise with all Parts suppliers, motor manufacturers, relevant in-house teams and other technical bodies to establish root causes of part component defects and failure
  • Liaise with and work collectively with the Procurement and Engineering function to ensure that all revenue generation and bottom-line profit opportunity is maximised
  • Support on strategic project with parts experience and drive owned measures
  • Ensure continuous improvement principles are in place for all operational work processes and liaise with other in-house teams to provide an excellent Parts customer service provision
  • Initiate and drive commercial negotiations with supplier together with the Procurement function
  • Support tender bid submissions for new business opportunities

Experience

  • Experience in first and second tier parts supplier or motor manufacturer relationships
  • Recognised motor trade apprenticeship or similar equivalent formal motor industry mechanical or parts training
  • Computer Literate with strong knowledge of MS Office - particularly Excel & Word
  • Pro-active mind set to drive and deliver BAU and project work
  • Develop and implement change to Parts systems/processes and general culture
  • Full Driving Licence
