Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Bridgwater

Pay Range: Market Related

Contract Type: Permanent

My client is looking for an experienced Maintenance engineer with experience working with machine breakdowns and plc operated machines. The successful candidate would have an electrical bias but still have the correct experience to deal with any mechanical breakdown

Key Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer

  • Facilities and Plant maintenance.

  • Carrying out preventative planned maintenance using the Shire system.

  • Attending emergency line breakdowns providing technical support to successfully develop first line diagnostic and fault-finding skills, PLC Programming.

  • Long term improvement initiatives.

  • All plant modifications must adhere to the plant modification procedure.

  • Schedule and undertake periodic maintenance of all electrical equipment, components and installations.

  • Installation of new machines and any equipment.

  • Working with specialist equipment such as Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s) which control machinery within production factory areas.

  • To ensure good housekeeping of maintenance tools and store equipment

  • Ensure that equipment is in good working order so as to prevent disruption of activities.

 

Qualifications & Requirements – Maintenance Engineer

  • Installation of fresh electrical components and fittings.

  • Recommend replacement for old faulty electrical components and fitting to management.

  • Perform energy audit and recommend alternative sources of energy.

  • Help the organisation to reduce energy costs.

  • Fix and maintenance lighting fixtures and fittings.

  • Troubleshoot machine breakdowns and provide preventative maintenance services Undertake any other tasks/duties required by your Line Manager
