Position - Maintenance Engineer
Shift Pattern - 3 shift pattern (06:00 – 14:00 / 14:00 – 22:00 / 22:00 – 06:00)
Location – Gloucestershire

We are recruiting experienced Maintenance Engineers to join a leading global manufacturer in the automotive industry with a high level of quality, excellent benefits package, and opportunities to progress within the department.
This is an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated Maintenance Engineer to join a team responsible for carrying out electrical and mechanical breakdown repair coverage for all manufacturing plant and Assembly & Test Area’s, carrying out planned preventive maintenance in line with pre-determined schedules and to assist with training Operators and Craft (where necessary).
May also undertake more complex and detailed project work when machine rebuilds, or refurbishments are required.
Role & Responsibilities
Respond to machine breakdowns and Assembly and Test area breakdowns with a view to minimising downtime and improving long term machine reliability.
Execution of the Maintenance Managers’ / Senior Maintenance Engineers’ plan to work preventatively in addition to reactively.
Use of appropriate root cause analysis tools 5 WHY & MBR.
Actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer out persistent problems.
Be cost conscious - achieving savings where possible.
Carry out routine Planned Preventative Maintenance.
Accurately record all maintenance tasks performed on an electronic reporting system (CMMS).
Train Operators and Craft in performing First Line and Planned Maintenance Activities as and when required.
Communicate and liaise effectively with other Product Lines and fellow Maintenance Engineers to ensure continuity of information between shifts.
Liaise with machine tool suppliers/representatives for the purchase of machine tool spares and
resolution of problems requiring 3rd party support.
Be responsible for training apprentices.
Be conversant with Electricity at Work Regulations, COSHH and Safety at Work Regulations.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience of working in a machine tool, assembly or test production
Experience with Assembly and Test Equipment.
Experience with high accuracy automated grinding, turning, milling CNC machines.
Strong fault-finding skills.
Ability to read Pneumatic, Electrical & Hydraulic Schematics.
Multi-skilled with practical experience in CNC/PLC fault finding and repair. Complete
understanding and experience of mechanical and electrical disciplines (40/60 split).
Siemens S7 Power Line 840D/Solution Line PLC and CNC control experience.
Automation & Robotics experience.
A proven record of being pro-active, self-motivated and flexible when working in a pressurised
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well at all levels
Flexible team-worker - ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Fanuc PLC & CNC control experience.
Allen-Bradley PLC experience.
Experience with conventional and ultrasonic wash processes.
A recognised engineering apprenticeship.
HNC qualified, or equivalent experience
