To identify, plan, coordinate and deliver training & development needs identified amongst the Indirect population within a busy manufacturing business to a high quality and cost-efficient manner.  Further, mandatory/ compliance training should be identified and delivered to all colleagues within the company throughout the calendar year.   

  • Articulate the training and development plan for the Indirect population based on outputs from the company’s appraisal and succession planning processes; and from input from company ‘Subject Matter Experts’ based on the overall company initiatives/ priorities
  • Execute the training and development plan ensuring that training interventions are of a high quality and are cost effective
  • Ensure that identified priority mandatory/ compliance training is delivered and undertaken by all colleagues within the business
  • Training delivered is below or in line with the budgeted training plan ensuring that the Apprenticeship Levy is fully utilised
  • Initiate, develop and implement a training assessment tool to ensure that training undertaken is assessed in terms of its effectiveness
  • Maintain the company’s training database in a timely and accurate way
  • Upon the recruitment of apprentices into Indirect Functions, coordinate their apprenticeship programme including managing the relationship with the Training Providers; the Colleges and Line Managers. 
  • Upon the recruitment of graduates into Indirect Functions, coordinate their development programme including managing the relationship between external training providers and the Line Managers.  

• Training Plan articulated, costed and agreed via the budgeted process in August/ September

• Training & Development for colleagues delivered as per the agreed plan

• Training Courses are delivered to a timetable agreed with Stakeholders

• Training & Development Plan is delivered in accordance with the agreed budget

• Mandatory/ Compliance training is launched in a timely manner (e.g., in line with changes to legislation) and all colleagues complete it within an agreed timeframe

• The Training Database is up to date and accurate

• Apprentices/ Graduate successfully completing their programmes in the most efficient manner

• CIPD Qualified or Equivalent Training Qualification

• Proven experience of coordinating training & development within an organisation of a similar size or bigger (circa. 250) including Leadership Development

• Proven experience of managing the Apprenticeship Levy

• Proven experience of managing apprenticeship programmes

• Proven experience of maximising the potential/ use of IT systems in the spirit of efficiency
