Laboratory QC Team Manager

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Stroud Stonehouse area

Pay Range: £35k - £39k 10% Bonus, excellent pension matched healthcare

Client: Global Leader in FMCG and Food and Drink

Contract Type: Permanent

Monday-Friday days based 38 hour week

The role will report into Site the Technical Manager and will help lead on the sites’ testing strategy to deliver quality targets and continuously improve quality performance by coaching and developing your team of direct reports

Lead a team to provide a testing service for the analysis of the manufacturing environment, equipment/utilities, raw materials, and commercial products

Key Responsibilities - Laboratory QC Team Manager

  • Responsible for the laboratory’s testing regime to ensure only food safe products
  • To oversee the training and development of staff
  • Assist with the management of a comprehensive quality system Advance the technical capability of the laboratory by developing
  • new methodologies and innovations
  • Ensure raw materials received from suppliers meet appropriate standards
  • Lead on the internal/ external testing regime and ensuring that any non-conformances are escalated and investigated
  • To manage the Laboratory effectively using good planning and organisational skills
  • To provide and maintain the routine sampling and testing service which includes the testing of raw materials, products and the manufacturing environment.
  • To lead disciplinary investigations as per company policy
  • To develop, coach and mentor the team to raise skill and competence levels to all maximum flexibility of the team
  • Create a Performance Development Plan (PDP) for all team members
  • To support the site QMS by conducting review
  • Responsible for the management and development of a team of Laboratory Technicians

Key Responsibilities – Laboratory QC Team Manager

  • Experience working in laboratory environment ideally within the food and drink industry, pharmaceuticals or consumer goods and related
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline e.g. Microbiology
  • Food Safety qualifications preferred
  • Able to influence and build relationships both externally and internally
  • Ability to communicate and motivate people
  • HACCP Award - Level 3 ideal
  • Basic Food Hygiene
  • Microbiology and Aseptic techniques
  • Advanced problem solving skills
  • Experience working as a team leader or people manager
  • GMP experience
