The Head of Project Engineering & Process Optimisation facilitates multi-discipline engineering team leadership and coordination across the engineering project lifecycle.

It Is a senior appointment. Reporting to the Engineering Director, will lead a multi-disciplinary team of senior engineers to maximise plant and processing engineering activities. Leading a large-scale engineering programme of works to ensure that new technologies are implemented and integrated to achieve technical engineering performance and plant optimization. You will ensure ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance is achieved, to secure optimal process and plant generation.

Key Responsibilities - Head of Project Engineering & Process Optimisation

  • You will develop all aspects of strategic capability for site engineering, think implantation, integration and ongoing optimization. Curiosity and innovation drive you, everyday!

  • You will develop and improve the engineering development and capability strategy for the site, including the extension of critical engineering process.

  • Manging teams of senior engineers to increase plant process flexibility, efficiency, availability, and reliability, through the introduction of new technologies

  • Champions Sustainability, Safety, Health, and the Environment, by putting personal safety and well-being at the heart of everything you do

  •  Co-ordination of Engineering and Design , Development and interaction interfaces between the site and other project partners/supply chain partners

  • Lead and execute multi-million capital projects, owning technical risk identification, assessment, management, and review for large-scale introduction.

  • Ensure that strategic asset maintenance management tactics are developed and integrated within existing plant performance and systems – BAU achievement

  • Acting as a strategic site pillar in continuous improvement

  • Management of Project Engineering on Projects - monitoring delivery performance, offering direction to ensure that the discipline delivers multi-discipline engineering design and execution projects that are safe, sustainable, digitally enabled, compliant and meet commercial delivery targets of this global business

  • As a client & supplier interface, a lead Project Engineering Manager, responsible for managing the delivery of multi-disciplinary engineering design on major projects through the various of stages of the project life cycle

  • Lead, contribute and co-ordinate all future site development plans by providing expert knowledge, shaping the design of systems, structures, and ways of working

  • Proactive engagement of process safety management and continued compliance with process and functional safety standards.

  • Leading cost-saving initiatives to reduce waste

  • Act as a role model for safety performance within the engineering team, as an ambassador for behavioural safety initiatives

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience – Head of Project Engineering & Process Optimisation

  • Graduate Engineer in engineering – Chemical , Mechanical or Electrical

  • Chartered Engineer preferred

  • Skilled in programme and project management

  • Knowledge of Process Safety Management

  • Knowledge of Project Management processes

  • Skills is engineering design and commissioning of engineering projects

  • An exceptional negotiator with a background in influencing key stakeholders and senior management

  • Data-driven

  • Able to demonstrate cross-discipline engineering understanding and interactions for engineering, procurement, and project management.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Project Controls, including Schedule, Cost, Risk and Change Management

  • A background in heavy engineering – process, power, oil and gas and energy are desirable

  • Knowledge of Asset Management processes &  UK statutory/regulatory requirements
