My client is a market leading manufacturing business based in Gloucester who are looking for two experienced Customer service representative who ideally has experience within a manufacturing environment.

 The role holder will have an enthusiasm, a passion for and an interest in our clients’ customers whilst working in a fast-paced environment. The interpersonal skills necessary to sustain effective relationships on behalf of the business with their customers and any other external bodies through a culture of customer satisfaction. They will build and maintain strong working relationships with our customers including daily communications by telephone and email to ensure that customer orders are accepted and progressed to the point of delivery. 

The role holder who likes to patiently attentively listen to our customers and deals with any customer service issues.  Ensuring that all customer requirements are met in line with my clients’ goals for delivery of cost, high quality products and by offering a positive timely solution to each scenario. 

Customer Interaction and Orders:

•Undertake regular communication with assigned customers via phone, video call and email, as required. 

• Participate in regular customer meetings e.g., weekly updates and quarterly account reviews.

• Proactively communicate to customers regarding open order status and delivery schedules.

• Liaise with internal departments to ensure coordination of production and shipping to meet customer requirements, including assisting with customer complaints.

• Take ownership of customer expedite requests and ensure updates are provided in agreed timescales.

• Promptly resolve any issues in a speedy and professional manner in line with Company Service standards.

• Completing daily order tracking information and attend all required inter-departmental meetings.

• The ability to act proactively and with limited direct supervision, while at the same time recognising when matters need to be referred to the line manager.

Order Processing:

• To accurately code, price and process customer orders via the business ERP.

• Create and send customer order acknowledgment in agrees SLA timescales.

• Create and distribute dispatch notifications and transit tracking for all customer deliveries. 

• Obtain confirmation from customer that goods have been received.


• Generate invoices for customers in line with customer / business requirements. 

• Assist Accounts Receivable function with customer invoice queries.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Must have strong verbal and professional written skills, with the ability to think laterally in a calm and methodical manner.

• The written and oral communication skills necessary to initiate and respond to correspondence with customers. Expresses passion and enthusiasm within the role.

• Must be confident, assertive and an empathetic communicator, and have effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external customers. A natural desire to help people.

• Essential experience of working with an international customer base and able to liaise with customers taking into consideration multiple cultural differences. 

• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of customer service charter principles, clearly focused on achieving results through outstanding customer service and effective team working. 

• Preferable to have at least 2-4 years proven Customer Service/Customer Account experience within a manufacturing environment (preferably make-to-order)
