Control Panel Technician

Our client are an international engineering company specialising in the manufacture, installation and servicing of a range of automated material handling systems. The ideal candidate for this role will have experience of the complete wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment.
Role Brief – Control Panel Technician
Assembly of Electrical Control Panels and associated wire harnesses. Responsible for the physical assembly, wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment. As a technician you will fabricate controls panels to a specified design, including layout and physical mounting of components to back panels, wiring of all components, installation of control panel onto equipment, where necessary, and testing to ensure proper operation.
Responsibilities – Control Panel Technician
Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures
Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
Routing and bundling of wire and cables to meet wiring standards
Point to point wiring of components
Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
Communicate red line changes to Engineer or Team Leader for revision prior to completion
Communicates effectively with all team members, leads, builders, engineers and the Project Managers
The ability to meet deadlines under pressure
A high standard of quality and attention to detail
Experience/Qualifications – Control Panel Technician
18 edition: BS7671
Time served apprentice – electrical bias
Experience with AutoCAD Electrical.
Experience with E-plan
