Position: CMM Quality Engineering Inspector

Salary: £33,000 DOE

Location: Gloucester

Type: Permanent

The Quality Engineering Inspector will have the responsibility of ensuring all quality issues are adhered to. Our client are a professional Sub- Contract precision machining company working within various sectors including aerospace, metrology, rheology, semi-conductor, and oil & gas. The Company has a great team that work to tight deadlines and offers job variety at a fast pace

As Quality Engineering Inspector, you will carry out the following and be familiar with ISO9001 procedures

  • Extensive experience working in a precision sub-contract machine shop with good appreciation of all machining processes
  • Extensive experience using CNC Co-ordinate Measuring Machine preferable ABERLINK Axiom too 600mm machine
  • Experience using BATY Vision Venture Video Camera 300mm machine or similar.
  • Experience using all other conventional measuring equipment ranging from Calipers, micrometers, bore micrometers and surface texture measuring equipment etc.
  • Undertake all First Off Inspection prior to batch run and advise shop floor of any discrepancies
  • Carry out roaming inspection.
  • Undertake all Final Inspections with particular attention to burrs and surface finishes
  • Carry out First Article Inspections Reports as required in line with customer requirements
  • Contact customers with any drawing queries, dimensional errors, surface finishes and tolerances etc.
  • Have a good appreciation of Aerospace procedures and quality issues.
  • Have a general knowledge of Anodising and painting processes.
  • Ability to arrange calibration for all measuring equipment and plug gauges at 6 to 12 months intervals, internally and externally.
  • Use our new integrated MRP system on daily bases to organise component dispatch notes, certificate of conformity, outwork, and material certificates.
  • Investigate rejects, material returns, complete corrective actions as necessary and apply for concessions as required.
  • Book in raw material, tooling, proprietary parts, and file paperwork for full traceability.
  • Inspect sub-contracted machined parts and book in.
  • Prepare and kit material with job pack ready for production. This will include the use of the saw for billeting material.

39 hour working week (7.30am - 4.00pm Mon-Thurs, 7.30am - 3.00pm Fri)

33 days holiday including bank holidays and paid Sick Scheme
