Job Role:

The category manager works to define the long-term supply strategy for a category of spend, with consideration of business objectives, stakeholder requirements, expected demand and external market conditions to deliver optimized and best-in-class total cost of ownership, with mitigated, supply risks

Duties:

-Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders
-Design and develop the category strategy in order to leverage global spend opportunities, reduce lead times and total cost of ownership.
-Develop and implement global sourcing and spend strategies to support family plans and cost reduction objectives.
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers with an aim to introduce new and innovative technology and processes to improve margins and service delivery.
-Manages and leverages global spend and global suppliers for an assigned category and/or sub-category.
-Compile and update demand and spend levels and provide input to the Division scenario planning.
-Monitor global markets trends, intervene to manage/mitigate the impact of supply shortfalls or price increases, or market opportunities.
-Ensure that all managed suppliers have executed contracts in place, are actively monitored and that full value extraction is delivered with the Post-Award
-Benchmark performance and audit suppliers with assistance from key stakeholders.
-Ensure alignment across Divisions for preferred suppliers and family plans that considering concentration, capacity, lead time, cost, risk, ESG performance and operational performance, along with Division-specific business requirements.
-Implement, Monitor and Maintain a supply base profile in the Buying Guides, and drive compliant purchasing.

Skills/Experience

-MCIPS Qualified or equivalent experience
