The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, coordination, implementing and monitoring the businesses overall strategy in order to maximise efficiency and productivity. The buyer will direct and coordinate purchasing, warehousing, goods received, inventory spares and financial forecasting activities to control costs, reduce risk of delays and improve Customer Service.

Responsibilities – Buyer

  • Planning of all overseas imported goods with particular attention to timing and stock levels.

  • Sourcing raw materials verifying quality and compliance

  • Develop and administer the goals, objectives, and daily priorities for Procurement department.

  • Identify cost savings to meet goals.

  • Drive cross functional teams and work collaboratively with suppliers for capacity planning.

  • Inventory control.

  • Prepare weekly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Able to manage stock in and out.

  • Must remain calm and be always in control.

Experience Required – Buyer

  • ERP experience ideally Pegasus Opera

  • Production Planning to suit seasonal demand

  • Delivery timescales to be managed for Goods In and Goods out

  • Multi-warehouse management to ensure finished stock & raw materials are available in the right locations in a known timescale.

  • IT awareness – Outlook, windows and Excel

  • A strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly to all ages and personalities

  • A collaborative team player

  • High degree of professional integrity

  • Patient – critical during peak season

  • Ability to think independently and have a proactive attitude

  • Ability to identify business needs and matching these with commercial priorities

  • Excellent relationship building skills, negotiation skills, time management and organisational skills needed
